Established in 1995, åtto Abrasives Ltd is a manufacturer and supplier of bonded abrasives, based in Ireland and supplying countries all over the world. They recently acquired a processing plant in Tijuana, Mexico.
Using separate CRM and accounting systems, åtto did not have the capacity to manage the added complexity that came with the acquisition. They knew that if they were to keep growing they would have to regain control of the various parts of their business.
Financial Controller, Michael Burke, employed HCS Business Solutions; Ireland’s first Mamut Platinum Partner, to help look for a solution. “We started looking for a new system, and found major software labels so expensive for what they were offering. They had functionality we would never use and were missing the functionality we needed. In particular they had issues with CRM, and quotation management. You would end up having to buy add-ons to make a complete package,” Michael said.
After using Mamut’s free demo CD to get a feel for how the system worked, Michael knew it was exactly what he wanted and his decision was made.
Implementation of Mamut was easy and with the help of HCS, åtto Abrasives were using the system and gaining real business benefits in no time.
"I use it every day for quotations along with accounting and reporting. Previously we needed several spreadsheets to give us an overview, now we can print one report and get accurate information about the business. I also suspect our accountant will find an improvement in our accounts compared to what we use to have.”
Integration with Microsoft Outlook means that åtto can now send out invoices and statements electronically. “We use the integration between Mamut and Outlook for invoicing and email invoices and statements to our contacts. Our postal bill has come down and we don’t have a stack of post waiting on the desk to go out.” Michael says the benefits of having one system has made it easier to keep control of all areas of the business.
“Having a complete system is a great benefit; other systems we have used have had a separate CRM package, which makes it difficult to make the systems work together. The CRM functionality is very helpful we didn’t have information like this before,” says Michael.
