Users who upgrade to Mamut will receive unlimited support on their Mamut product, however the type may vary depending on product.

Q: Do the Mamut products support the VAT changes that will take effect from January 2010?
A: Yes, all Mamut solutions are kept up to date with any relevant UK tax and payroll legislation.

Q: When is the best time to change to Mamut?
A: The end of the accounting year or the end of VAT reporting period is the best time to change accounting systems. Mamut is much more than an accounting system. To start using CRM you should sign up for, and start using the product today. Also, Mamut offers a complete HMRC accredited payroll solution called Mamut Payroll that can be bought as an add-on. It is possible to start getting this product ready so you are prepared when the payroll add-on is deactivated on the 15th of December.

Q: Does Mamut work with 64-bit systems?
A: Yes, all Mamut solutions can run on Windows 64-bit.

Q: Can you submit VAT returns electronically with Mamut solutions?
A: As of today it is possible for you to manually lodge your VAT returns online using the government portal. We are currently in the planning process to make an automated electronic delivery through a 3rd party add-on.

Q: Will I still be able to refer to my old Microsoft Office Accounting software after I have changed to Mamut?
A: Yes, but there is no synchronisation, so remember to do all changes in your new Mamut solution.

Products and upgrades

Q: Are there other Mamut products users can migrate to?
A: Mamut will provide free upgrade offers to equivalent solutions, however there are also a range of other solutions with extended functionality that users are able to migrate to.

Q: How much does it cost to move to Mamut?
A: Registered users of Microsoft Office Accounting receive special upgrade offers – and Mamut offers a variety of solutions depending on the user’s needs and requirements. Register on the front page to see the offers.

Q: Should I migrate by a specific date?
A: Many customers can continue to use Microsoft Office Accounting until they reach a point where they out grow the solution and wish to upgrade to Mamut. Some customers however will need to upgrade to Mamut before January 2010 as new laws will come into effect, which will not be supported by Microsoft Office Accounting. These laws relate to cross-border trade within the EU. Some customers will also need to change once the payroll add-on in Microsoft Office Accounting is disabled on the 15th of December 2009. Some customers will also wish to upgrade to Mamut before the start of their new accounting year to ensure they begin their year with all the relevant information in one system. Finally, some customers will also wish to change their solution in order to start the New Year with the new VAT rates in place, and not in an old system with a mixture of VAT rates.
