As you may be aware, the standard rate of VAT will be increased from 17.5% to 20.0%, effective from the 4th January 2011. From the 4th January, the new rate should be used on all orders and invoices. Full details about this change can be found on the HMRC website here.
Mamut is pleased to provide you with the Mamut Standard VAT rate update tool to help you change the VAT settings within your Mamut Business Software. It is important to note that in order to use this tool, you must be using version 12.2.7038 or newer of Mamut Business Software. You are able to check what version you have by selecting “Help - About” in your Mamut system.
If you are not using version 12.2.7038 please update your software before using the Standard VAT rate tool. Download newest version.
If you have Mamut 12.2.7038 or newer installed please read on and follow the directions for updating your software for the changes to the standard VAT rate.
How to update your Standard VAT rates
STEP 1 - Download the User Guide for the tool
1. The user guide can be downloaded here.
It is important that you read through this before using the tool for the first time.
STEP 2 - Download the Standard VAT rate tool
1. Within the Mamut menu select File > Database Utilities > Download System update file
2. Select Download files from the internet and click Next
3. In the next window that opens select the Vat Update tool 2011 item by clicking on it and then press OK
4. The download will begin, Note: for Vista users you may need to enter your username and password to allow the process to continue at several stages. Please enter your login details and allow the process to continue when this happens.
Once the download of VAT Update tool 2011 has completed, the installation will automatically begin.
STEP 3 - Installation of Mamut Standard rate tool
1. In the welcome screen shown below click Next to continue.
2. Click Install to begin installation.
The VAT rate adjustment tool will be installed. When the installation is completed, the following screen will appear:
